AUG 01
We raise our hearts and voices to God, saying Hear us, good Lord.
Help us to see your presence in your church; that you would guide and direct us all to fill the world with the love, truth, and unity that is your will. Make us bold to proclaim your Gospel and to make disciples. Inspire those who lead us with understanding and compassion, that their lives will demonstrate your teachings.
Hear us, good Lord.
Surround with grace all who serve the common good, who bear the mantle of authority. Be in the hearts of all who offer themselves for public service. Direct them away from personal temptation, that they may serve your people for the benefit of all.
Hear us, good Lord.
As your Holy Spirit shelters the world with her power, help us to use this protection to work for the safety of all. In a world struggling with fire and flood; greed and exploitation; conflict and devastation; stir up in us the will to take action to protect and sustain the life of the earth for this and future generations.
Hear us, good Lord.
Cover us with your grace, that we may hear and receive your holy word; that we may carry that blessing into our communities. Help us to fill our relationships with love and healing; help us to see your face in the faces of everyone we meet. Reconcile us with those who have erred, and those who are deceived. Guide us to make this town a haven of justice and peace.
Hear us, good Lord.
Strengthen those who struggle with any need this day; those who are ill in mind, body, and spirit; those whose earthly resources are limited; those who are paralyzed by fear. Help us all to know our need for your healing touch, and to receive the blessing of spiritual balm that only you can offer. Refresh our souls, comfort our faint-heartedness, renew our hope.
Hear us, good Lord.
Joy of our hearts, remind us of the extravagance of your grace. As we delight in the opulence of goodness in this life, remind us to raise our hearts with thanksgiving for all we receive. May we respond to your gift of blessings by being a blessing to each other, giving glory to you and in service to the community.
We offer these prayers with humility and gratitude;
Hear us, good Lord. Amen.

Standing in the presence of our God, we pray saying Lord, Hear our prayer.
Loving God, we pray for all of your people, asking that each of us may be faithful in our calling and true to your will for us. May our leaders guide us in righteousness and truth, and may all we do reflect the light of your glory. Lord,
Hear our prayer.
God, you who rule the entirety of the cosmos, we ask your blessings upon those who govern in our realms. Be in the hearts and minds of our elected and appointed officials, and all who have offered themselves for public service in the coming election. Gide their hearts towards works of peace and justice for all. Lord,
Hear our prayer.
Gracious Lord, we pray for all those who struggle with their faith, for those who question and those who doubt, and for those who are secure in your truth. We ask you to accompany us all on our spiritual journeys, that we may come to you with the inquiring and discerning hearts to know and love you all our lives. Lord,
Hear our prayer.
As you call us to your family, we are thankful for your loving care for our families and friends. Bring them joy and satisfaction in all they do, and peace of heart and mind in all their encounters. Lord,
Hear our prayer.
Healing God, our broken bodies and minds hunger for you. Feed us with the living bread of salvation, and help us to provide nourishment and care for those who experience sickness of any kind. Inspire us to reach out to the victims of our society: the lost, the least, the left behind; that they too may learn of your promise of health. Lord,
Hear our prayer.
Creator God, we delight in the master works of your creation! As we enjoy the gifts of this season, let us be mindful of all your gifts to us at all times. Help us to be good stewards of your abundance, that your whole creation may reap the benefits of peace and justice. Lord,
Hear our prayer. Amen.
22 August
Raising our hearts and voices to God, we give words to the stirrings of our hearts saying Lord, Hear our Prayer.
Grant to your church throughout the world the gift of thoughtful prayer and of prayerful thought. Bless our leaders with inspiration, that they may faithfully guide us in discerning and doing what is right, to the glory of your name. Lord,
Hear our Prayer.
As we welcome our new provincial government and prepare to elect our next federal government, remind us of the power of seeking peace, of the importance of speaking truth, and of the responsibility for contributing to the betterment of society. Help us to stand up for what is right, and encourage the leaders of all the nations to do the same. Lord,
Hear our Prayer.
God, you see us, you love us as we are, and you know us as your own children. Help us to help the people in our community, that everyone knows they are valued and cherished as our neighbours and friends. Be in the hearts of all who are visiting to experience and share patience and compassion. Lord,
Hear our Prayer.
God of all creation, we see that your world is hurting; help us not to turn a blind eye to those who are struggling under any conflict, disaster, injustice, and distress. Stir in our hearts the desire to serve your people and your planet in ways that proclaim your liberating good news. Lord,
Hear our Prayer.
Healing God, we ask you to touch the souls of those who experience pain and those who are suffering: those whose dis-ease affects mind, body, or spirit. Refresh the caregivers and restore the exhausted, as they empower us to strive towards health and wholeness in all areas of life. Welcome home those who have died, and place your garment of comfort on the shoulders of those who grieve. Lord,
Hear our Prayer.
Be present, God, for all who celebrate this day: for all who know and love you, for all who want to know and love you better. We offer our prayers of thanksgiving for the gifts of this day, for the joys that you give, for the radical grace you lavish upon us, and for the opportunity to share in your mission of love. Lord,
Hear our Prayer. Amen.
29 AUGUST
Knowing God hears the whispers of our hearts, and the speaking of our lips, we pray to God Almighty saying Hear us, good Lord.
Hear us, good Lord.
We pray for the church: as imperfect as we are as individuals and communities, you call us together in service and in praise, and you love us as we are. Inspire our leaders to work for righteousness, bless them with wisdom and faith.
Hear us, good Lord.
We pray for those in authority; for the Queen and the royal family, the governments of our province and country, for those standing for possible election. We pray for places in political upheaval and corruption, that God may move the hearts of all in leadership to act in ways of justice and peace for all.
Hear us, good Lord.
We pray for the sick and the suffering; for those waiting medical care and those recovering, for those experiencing loneliness or heartbreak, for those who are trapped in negative or unhealthy spaces. We thank you for those who are offering care for hearts, minds, and bodies. As the healer of all, help us come to you for healing, and receive the balm of your word of truth.
Hear us, good Lord.
We pray for those in any need: as you fill us with every good thing, help us to feed the hungry with good food, to house the homeless with safe places, to care for the lonely and destitute in their distress. Help us to see beyond the constraints f the world and find new ways to share your generous bounty.
Hear us, good Lord.
We pray for the world, and our piece of it her in Lunenburg. We ask you to bless those who live here, and those who travel; those labouring and those in leisure; that this may be a town known for its community spirit. We ask your guidance to engage with the natural beauty of this place in sustaining and meaningful ways, preserving your masterpiece in this and every generation.
Hear us, good Lord.
We pray for ourselves, asking you to fill our souls with your divine energy, that we may leap like gazelles or young stags with delight to be in your presence. Help us to live our lives in ways that show the world that You are our beloved, and in all we do may we move ever closer to you.
Hear us, good Lord.
We pray with gratitude; thanking you for every generous act of giving that you share with us: for the joy of each new day, for the opportunity to grow in the faith, for the privilege of community. We thank you mostly for the gift of your dear Son our Saviour, Jesus Christ, who assures us of the salvation of our souls.
All this we pray to you, Holy One, Beloved, as faith-filled members of your family.
Hear us, good Lord. Amen.
