JUNE 7
Loving God, we
come before you, knowing you have already heard our prayers in the stirrings of
our hearts and the whispers of our lips. We pray to you; Creator, Redeemer,
Sustainer, saying Hear us, Triune God.
We pray for
your church:
For the buildings where your love is
shown
For the ministries where your grace
is celebrated
For the people living the truth of
your justice
And we lament
the mis-use of sacred spaces, texts, and peoples.
Help us to
build your church in acts of love:
Hear
us, Triune God.
We pray for
those given earthly authority:
For the messages given in words and
in silence
For the structures to maintain
peace, order, and good governance
For the policies and practices that
support the common good.
And we lament
those who abuse their public power for personal gain.
Help us to
build a system to the benefit of all
Hear
us, Triune God.
We pray for
your world:
For the defenders of creation
For the peace-makers and
justice-builders
For the victims of conflict, strife,
and disaster
And we lament
those who devastate the beauty of diversity.
Help us to
build our humble niche within the earth as nations of peace.
Hear
us, Triune God.
We pray for
our communities:
For our friends and neighbours who
bring us joy
For the people whose work brings us
comfort and health
For social systems that bring us
relative security.
And we lament
times when we have not acted for the goodwill of all.
Help us to
build communities where all are seen and heard as beloved of God.
Hear
us, Triune God.
We pray for
those in any need:
For those with sickness or infirmity
in mind, body, and spirit.
For those experiencing homelessness,
poverty, desperation
For those who grieve: having lost a
loved one, a livelihood, or their dignity.
And we lament
structures that systemically discriminate and separate.
Help us to
live our baptismal vow to serve the Christ we see in all people.
Hear
us, Triune God.
We pray for
ourselves:
For moments of awakening as we
reflect on our lives
For the love and friendship that we
give and receive
For opportunities to serve you.
And we lament
those times that we do not realise the blessings of this life.
Help us to
journey forward, in prayer and praise, with grateful hearts and compassionate
wills.
Hear
us, Triune God.
14 JUNE
We come to the throne of grace praying: Lord, "hear
our prayer"
We pray for the church: the beautiful assembly
of God's people, striving to love and serve. For Archbishop Ron, and our
diocesan episcopal nominees, and all in leadership; for those whose ministry
continues, and those whose ministry is on hold. For those whose faith is
secure, and those who struggle: that we may be empowered and strengthened by
your Holy Spirit.
Lord, hear
our prayer
We pray for ourselves, at the age and stage of
life we celebrate this day. We hold up before you our young members, our Sunday
School friends, who continue to navigate this age with us. We ask you to bless
their summer, to keep them safe, and to inspire their hearts to live towards
you in all things.
Lord, hear
our prayer
We pray for the
Queen, the Prime Minister and Premier, and all in authority: that they may
always work for the greater good, and govern with gentleness, discretion, and
compassion.
Lord, hear
our prayer
We pray for the world, for the length of days
and the warmth of the weather; for the sunrises and sunsets that invite us to
marvel at your creation. Inspire us to live in peace with each other and with
the ecosystems that sustain us.
Lord, hear
our prayer
We pray for our local community and for all
who live here; for those facing continued uncertainty in employment; for those
feeling lonely and isolated. That your blessings may be felt in and through our
communities,
Lord, hear
our prayer
We pray for those in need; for the sick and
recovering; for the lonely and weary; for victims of societal ills. We recall
those whose names and circumstances have touched our hearts this week. Fill
them with knowledge of your love and strength to endure their earthly trials.
Lord, hear
our prayer
We pray for those who have died in the peace
of Christ, and those whose faith is known to you alone. May they rest in peace
and rise in glory; may their loved ones know the consolation of your promise of
eternal life.
Lord, hear
our prayer
Help us to be grateful in all things and at
all times; rejoicing in the gifts of this life and helping to be a blessing to
the world around us.
Lord, hear
our prayer.
21 june
With one heart
and one mind, let us bring our prayers before God; saying Lord, in your mercy, Hear
our prayer.
Loving God, we
gather today in this sacred space, as your church. Though our bodies remain
apart, you have connected our souls to you and to each other through your Son.
We ask you to bless Archbishop Ron, our episcopal nominees, Archdeacon Ian,
Regional Dean Simon, and all in authority; that their leadership may inspire us
to better serve you.
Lord in your
mercy,
Hear
our prayer.
We pray for all
those in leadership: for the Queen and our elected officials, as they govern
through times of societal re-opening, racial awakening, changing climate, and a
world in conflict. Fill them with hope; guide them with peace; inspire them
with truth.
Lord in your
mercy,
Hear
our prayer.
We pray for
those for whom daily life is a struggle: those who are afflicted by political,
economic, and environmental uncertainty; those whose means to not cover the
necessities of life; those who feel helpless and hopeless. In a world where
fear seems dominant, we ask you to empower us to work for justice and peace.
Lord in your
mercy,
Hear
our prayer.
We pray for our
communities; for those experiencing security and those who live in uncertainty.
For those who are coping well in this COVID time, and those who are not. For
those who are victims of the ills of society, and those who perpetuate them. May
we be inspired to advocate for a more just society.
Lord in your
mercy,
Hear
our prayer.
We pray for
those in any need of mind, body, or spirit. For those who received good medical
news this week, and those who bear new challenges; for the diseases and
infirmities that are known and those that are invisible. As we ask your
presence to comfort those in weakness, fear, and pain; we also ask for your
blessing on all who work in health care and research.
Lord in your
mercy,
Hear
our prayer.
We pray for
those who grieve the loss of a loved one. We pray for all who have suffered
loss, for all who dwell in fear, for all who have closed their hearts to your
grace and love.
Lord in your
mercy,
Hear
our prayer.
Gracious God, we
also bring you our thanksgivings, for the blessings of this life that we
celebrate and those that we take for granted. Help us to enter this week as
ambassadors for your Kingdom; bearing a spirit of gratitude, delighting in your
generous gifts, and embracing the abundant opportunity for us to live in
Christian love.
Lord in your
mercy,
Hear
our prayer. Amen.
JUNE 28
To
the petition "Lord, in your mercy," please reply with "Hear
our Prayer."
Holy
God, we pray for your church. In this liturgical season of "ordinary"
time, help us to see your extraordinary works in and through us. Bless
Archbishop Ron, our Episcopal nominees, our Archdeacon Ian, and all in
authority - that they may inspire us all to convey the Good News of God in
Christ.
Lord,
in your mercy, Hear our Prayer.
We
pray for all in earthly authority: for all communities facing elections, for
all those discerning a will to serve. May your truth and peace be in their
hearts, that they may govern your people with kindness and compassion.
Lord,
in your mercy, Hear our Prayer.
We
pray for peace in the world: for your comfort to surround places in conflict
and people in distress, for your Spirit to soften the hearts of those who
oppress and commit violence, and for your guidance for us all to learn how to
better respect the dignity of all.
Lord,
in your mercy, Hear our Prayer.
We
hold before you those in need of body, mind, and spirit; for the victims of our
society, and for those who care for them; for those who continue to be affected
by the impacts of COVID-19, and for those who will be affected in the days and
weeks to come.
Lord,
in your mercy, Hear our Prayer.
We
pray for ourselves; as we approach the beauty of summer and the opening of
local borders, that we may continue to enjoy the gift of health and the
privilege of each other. Help us to view one another without suspicion, and to
support one another as we all do our best to be your children.
Lord,
in your mercy, Hear our Prayer.
We
offer you our thanksgivings for the blessings of this life, whether we
recognise them or not; for all good things come from you, and to you we owe a
depth of praise.
Lord,
in your mercy, Hear our Prayer. Amen.
