We pray for the church: For our Primate
Fred, our Archbishop Ron, and for all clergy and people, that we who are
seeking Christ in our hearts may live into our calling to share the Good News
of God in this time and place.
God of wisdom, to you we pray:
Lead us by your light.
We pray for the Queen, for our
representatives in all levels of government, and for all in positions of authority:
that compassion and kindness may guide and direct their decisions, and that we
may have the strength to encourage them.
God of justice, to you we pray:
Lead us by your light.
We pray for the world: for peace and
justice to prevail throughout the earth; for the health and safety of all of
God's children; for the delicate ecosystems which sustain all life; and for our
role in all these relationships. May all we think, say, and do proclaim our
hope that "the earth shall be
filled with the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea."
God of perfect beauty, we pray:
Lead us by your light.
We pray for this community: as we celebrate
our rich history, and our hope in new beginnings. We pray for those who are
away, and for those who are visiting. We pray for all who live and work here,
that they may have abundant joy in their hearts.
God of love, to you we pray:
Lead us by your light.
We pray that your light will brighten all
who know darkness. For those in need of mind, body, or spirit; for the sick and
suffering, for those who grieve, for those whose hearts are hardened, for those
who struggle in ways we cannot imagine. Help us to recognise these needs with
concern and to respond with kindness.
God of compassion, to you we pray:
